Really nice video. Question: if you want to check the total inrush at start-up. Do you recommend putting the clamp meter on the common wire from the compressor or the run wire coming from the compressor? Thank you.
Ok. The question I can not get a answer on is what is the range of ohms that is considered normal? I understand testing Run and start and it all added up to 3, I got that part but what if it added up to 1.2 OHMs? Could it be .8 ohms? Could it go higher than 5? Is there a point the ohms are too high or too low? Or it dosent matter as long as C to R and C to S add up and equal close to R to S? What if I get .3 on one leg and 4.9 on the other? How high or low can these ohms go before condemning the compressor?
Thank u 🙏🏼
I loved you guys videos , are you still active on RUclips
On the insulated line, the Testo clamp is closer to the insulation than the other.
Put a Tesco or field piece. Bluetooth Probe on there. And your pressure will be different because of the pressure lost due to the hoses. I have a Tesco 570. When hooked up with hose compared to Tesco Bluetooth gages There is a 20. PSI difference between the 2.
Great video
I like the way you're doing your test I think it's pretty much spot-on with those testo vr fieldpiece but I think you're thermistor clap should be facing downward where the refrigerant will flow and give you a better reading great job 👍
This help me out alot
Excellent
The problem is, which is right? I've had 5 temp probes in a 1sq inch space, and none were exactly the same.. that was a pretty large temp differential though
I would say severs all Bryant AC units and the I like the number two mailing list better.
Great info. Thank you. I do have a quick question though after testing mine: This heat pump's compressor reads as follows (at the unit itself): C+R = 1.0. C+S = 1.2 R+S= ONLY 1.4 when it seems that it should add up to 2.2 based your example. Does this mean I have a potential problem with my compressor?
Eddie, where have you been?
Great video, just wandering can you add this and or the leak sealer as a preventative maintenance on an older systems?
Y am asking this question is ur meter shows 20 mega ohms bad .but other compressor companies they recommend 1mega ohms enough .
Dear sir iam also ac technician . What is the minimum recommend resistance value .
I love the bananas background. Love the color of ur walls
You need to measure total static pressure. Drill a hole in the blower door, and find the hole before the cooling coil (good coils have two measuring holes with steel snap in buttons. If you measure here, on a clean coil, you can get a differential reading which can be converted to CFM across the coil. Most residential equipment is only rated for .5” TOTAL static pressure. This can be more or less, depending on what is listed on the data plate. This can be measured with a 1” magnahelic. It has a high and low port. Low for the return, high for the supply. There are special static pressure tips. The gauge automatically converts the readings to total pressure. Taking one reading at a time will tell you what side of the system might show a restriction.
COMPLETELY WRONG SIR!!! for instance how can the guage read the pressure on the Low side now if you have Locked of the valve at that Point, your guage should be hooked up NOW between the Compressor and the Lock off Valve!! to test if the compressor valves are Leaking!!
Last time I left a tool on top while the unit was running I was repairing a coil 🤣
Thanks for sharing your videos about the troubleshooting of the air conditioning. Greetings from one of your subscribers from Canada
I wouldn’t just assume that the test lead in your left hand was in good contact with ground. It would be better to ensure your test lead is well grounded by first grounding both test leads at separate points on the machine and confirming good continuity, then test your compressor windings.
Or how about using the actual "GRD" connector on the right side...maybe leave the factory paint intact?
@@henseleric The ground screw is a good choice. You just have to make sure that your meter lead is in contact with ground. The paint or even other films on a metal surface can be insulators and can interrupt the flow of current necessary for your meter to detect an open circuit. Whenever you are checking for the absence of something, weather it is continuity or a voltage, you must be sure of your connections. It’s like checking for no voltage on an electrical conductor before you touch it. You better be sure your meter is working and in in contact with the surface you are checking.
Hello Sr. I see you do not give time between loading and loading for the system to stabilize. Good video but I consider that. Thank you !
Thank you for sharing your video tutorials. Watching with full support from Canada 🇨🇦.
I learned more in this video than I did in my 20 year career lol
Thank you 🙏
That was vsat and lsat. That has NOTHING to do with the clamps. This is the procedure for calibrating the temps, but the vsat scale is based off the internal computer, and is not adjustable (for good reason)
Thank you Sir.
Good explanation...
1.not very clear method. 2. at 0psi you seems has no R22 anywhere, so the reading is not defined. 3.137psi temp reading is the tank case temp not the R22 temp
There's no way that's a one and a half ton
I'm thinking a mechanical damper between his two return vents controlled by thermostat heat and cool switch maybe??? But that would be lots of dampers, one per room.
Call a professional? Are you kidding. Our furnace went down and we called a "professional" from the company that sold us the unit. He replaced the motor capacitor and wired it incorrectly when he replaced it. As a result the blower motor turned too slow. That caused excessive heat build up in the heat exchanger. That, in turn, caused the furnace to catch on fire. It could have burned our house down. It took me several days of troubleshooting to find his mistake and correct it. I will NEVER hire another "professional". david
Great, now you have me wondering if I can repair a Gigabit motherboard in my old desktop. One day the PC would not turn on, jumped it with a paperclip and the PSU would power up, hard drives would spin up, lights on the MB would light up but there was no sign of any kind of boot up.
So to measure your total static pressure don't you want to measure after the filter right before the fan and as close to your first Supply as possible?
Eddie FYI, there's no such thing as Purion freon, that's the name brand
Awesome great detail keep up the good work
Спасибо за нужное и поучительно видео!
The best explanationninhave ever had omg, lmao. Thank you dude
Take that JUNK name(Bryant) away from your name. You know your job.you will ALWAYS get customers so just drop the Bryant name connections & don't worry about it. Your good.you got this. I don't know you from Adam but as a fellow Kentuckian (S.E. KY) and as a good judge of character,I can tell you seem pretty honest & straight forward so believe me when I tell you that you will go far without that crap anywhere on van, brochure,or ads. You don't need it. I been in this biz. For 30 yrs & have been covered up,been without much work,& all in between. God won't let you & yours go without what you need. Personally I live in an area where coal mines have shut down & not a lot of work to be had but always enough to get thru. Started with a service company out of Chicago about three wks ago because I no longer wanted the headache that comes w all the paper work & stuff you have to keep up with by running your own business. I'm still doing what I love(service) but now I don't have all the stress & worry of the paper chase. Hope all works out for you but don't let it keep you up at night. It's just a stumbling block being cast before you. Over, around,or straight thru. That's your choices but this time 3 yrs from now,you won't even think of it.👍
used one to recover 120 lbs of r-22 out of a chiller. great time saver. best to use with ice and a bit of water. about 8 lbs of ice was used. recov cylinder gets real hot and increases tank pressure and works against recov machine.
How to ohm a compressor
What happens if you put that tool before the recovery machine which would cool off your recovery machine as well
we want accuracy but we put the gauges to the different places!!!!!!! to cm far maube have 2 degrees different... or for vacuum 10 cm pipe is value is different to... if we want to see the same values ww haft to uaw no accuracy tools
Should we condemn a crack in the heat exchanger base on CO air free or just CO if the numbers are very high?
Do you mean .5 CFM or .5 inches WC? You seem a little confused.
Hey Eddie we miss your videos
